Extraction Services

Last month, we started offering a 4 frame extractor for use. In addition, Tiger Tail Farms is now offering extraction services this season! You are welcome to bring your honey frames (all sizes – shallow, medium or deep) and we can help you extract your own honey using the best and most up-to-date equipment on the planet! We have all the equipment you will need – you bring nothing but your honey, and some buckets if you do not want to borrow and return ours, and the rest we will help you with! We have hot knives, the capping tanks for catching the cappings being removed, a premium 18 frame electric extractor which will allow for effortless extraction (no more sore arms from turning the crank for hours!), stainless steel filters for catching wax debris, and food grade buckets with gates for storing and transporting the honey. We even have numerous jars and lids if you would like to try a few for your own (sold at cost – no mark up!)

The cost of this service is minimal, and we usually ask for 5-7 pounds of honey as payment, so there is no out of pocket cost! If a person gets the normal return on 18 frames of honey in one batch, this should be 45-60 pounds of honey. Tiger Tail Farms' take of 5-7 pounds represents a small fraction of this, and usually equals the increase in production from using an electric extractor over a manual. (I have learned over time, that using the electric will give me an increase in yield of 10%-15% in honey per frame!)
