MEET TODD swanson

Todd Swanson is the owner and founder of Tiger Tail Farms, located in Granite Falls, NC. After starting and owning several businesses in the Charlotte, NC area, he retired to the North Carolina Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Todd has been raising bees in Caldwell County for several years, and is a member and former officer of the Caldwell County Beekeepers Association, as well as a member of the American Beekeeping Federation. Tiger Tail Farms currently runs four apiaries (bee farms) with more than 30 beehives. Tiger Tail Farms sells all sorts of honey and beekeeping products—from raw pure honey, to wax products including candles, and even sells bees to local and state beekeepers.

The goal of Tiger Tail Farms is not mere monetary gain, but to educate a new generation of beekeepers. The art of beekeeping seems to be fading in our country, with only the largest commercial beekeeping businesses showing any signs of promising growth. Todd is committed to teaching about beekeeping in local schools and civic organizations, along with assisting new beekeepers get started with all of the essential materials and bees needed to continue this wonderful legacy. All of Tiger Tail Farms bee hives are orange with Tiger Paws on them! The bees seem to love the Tigers and all that orange too!
